5Cowboy Bebop(1998)
In the year 2071, after a big disaster made Earth almost unlivable,Cowboy Bebopfollows Spike Spiegel, a bounty hunter. He used to be a hitman for the Red Dragon Syndicate and now chases criminals in a galaxy with lots of crime.
Spike has a history with Vicious, a former friend from the Red Dragon, but they turned into rivals. The show finishes with a big fight between Spike and Vicious as they clash over what they believe is right.
4Neon Genesis Evangelion(1995)
The show is about NERV, a group using big robots (Evangelions) to fight monsters called Angels. Characters like Shinji, Asuka, and Rei pilot these robots. At first, it has religious symbols and Bible references.
Later, it delves into the characters’ emotions and mental problems. This makes the show question reality. Hideaki Anno’s own depression influenced much of the series.
3Akira(1988)
In 1988, the Japanese government accidentally bombs Tokyo with an atomic bomb while doing experiments on kids with special powers. 31 years later, in 2019, Kaneda, a leader of a motorcycle gang, tries to rescue his friend Tetsuo from a secret government program.
He fights against activists against the government, selfish politicians, careless scientists, and a strong military leader until Tetsuo’s extraordinary powers unexpectedly show up. The ultimate fight happens during a big event in Tokyo, revealing the secrets of the experiments.

Their investigation raises important questions about what defines a human in a world where it’s hard to tell where people end and machines begin.

This anime follows the story of a girl, Saya, who’s really good at fighting evil creatures called teropterids, which look like humans and only want to drink human blood.
In the 1960s in Japan, she goes to a U.S. army base that might have these creatures. There are people who work to stop these creatures, and Saya is one of the best fighters among them.
