5 Best Graphic Design Apps for iPhone and iPad

Gone are the days when we used to rely on graphics designers to create professional-looking posters and flyers. It’s a new decade and we have dedicated graphic design apps for iPhone and iPad with hundreds of premium templates and a drag and drop editor. The arrangement allows anyone with basic knowledge to create cool posters. The App Store is flooded with such apps and among them, we have identified the top five options.

Best Graphics Design Apps for iPhone and iPad

We are prioritizing the apps that offer rich template support, drag and drop editor, and dozens of customization options.

No surprises here. Canva is the industry standard in the graphic design space. This multi-billion Australian startup has single-handedly dethroned the competition with thousands of templates, premium fonts, dozens of elements, and a thoughtful UI.

The design creation is as simple as it can get. Simply choose a template and start editing every element including text, background, colour, and more. You can change font size, color, format, play with spacing, and even group/ungroup parts of the design.

2. Adobe Spark Post

Adobe Spark Post isAdobe’s answer to Canva’s growing popularity. And I have to say, Adobe has done a decent job with the overall template collection and features. I don’t like how Adobe has a horizontal scrolling UI at the top to go through Lifestyle, Business, School, Collage, Travel, Food, and more sections. Canva does a better job with the default home UI.

As for editing, you can change font color, size, add effects, and even play with the opacity. The overall editing UI is thoughtfully designed and it’s suitable for a small screen so you can create graphic designs even on iPhone.

3. Desygner

Desygner has the best UI among all the graphic design apps for iPhone and iPad. Yes, there I said it. The template collection is neatly divided into a bunch of social categories and template types. One can also filter out the template selection and create their own formats.

I loved the calendar add-on. you’re able to see exactly when you created the content from the My Posts tab. My Assets is a universal place to access the Brand kit, Smart text, Images, and other Elements.

crello for iPhone

Desygner has integrated a capable editor here. You can change the fill color, stroke color, opacity, and even play with dozens of text styles and sizes.

Free to download with $4.95 per month for the Pro version.

At first, you might mistake Crello with Adobe Spark Post. The UI is quite identical to what Adobe offers. By default, it takes you to the home page with a bunch of templates to choose from. They are not categorized though.

Tap on the + icon at the bottom and you can choose from animated designs, covers and headers, Social Media posts, Blogging, and more. I like the editing UI. It’s specifically designed with a small screen in mind with big buttons and a dark background.

Free to download with $7.99 per month for the Pre version.

5. Flyer Maker

As the name suggests,Flyer makeris specially designed to create flyers on the go. By default, it takes you to the template gallery and they are nicely divided into a bunch of categories such as Fitness, Insurance, Fashion, Education, and more.

You can also create a design from the scratch using the custom size. The app is riddled with ads though. You will continue to see ads on every screen until you decide to pay for the pro version.

Free to download with a $3 per month in-app purchase for the Flyer Pro version.
