As the age of social media reaches its zenith, there aren’t many controversies or ground-shaking events that entertain us or take up our time other than the 15-second vertical scrolling culture we have immersed ourselves in. At a time such as this, Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and owner of such companies as SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and Twitter has made a mockery of what once was the only microblogging website in a space filled with saturated and overflowing content. And amid it all, Musk extends the reaches of his power as he continues to reshape Twitter from the inside out.

Elon Musk Continues To Implement New Rules at Twitter
In this era of instant news and non-stop entertainment,Elon Musksits above us all as he envisions a new future for the fated bird app which has been in a constant state of crisis ever since its origin in 2006. Originally founded by Jack Dorsey and his crew Williams, Stone, and Glass, the efficient microblogging website’s brutal and near-bankrupt circumstance, which had the company almost shut down more than once, finally found a capable master when Musk acquired it for $44 billion in a scandalous deal that extended from April to October 2022.

Soon after, the uplifting of Twitter bans of controversial personalities, the re-instating of equally controversial accounts, the implementation of the blue checkmark as an accessible tool for all users in exchange for a fixed price, and the mass firing of engineers from the company – all of it came under harsh scrutiny by the media and public, even as the company began to churn in profits at a snail’s pace.

Despite what Musk has been doing to turn the company around and bring in profit worthy of his $44 billion deal, the new law that limits the users from performing and engaging in the social media platform’s most basic and fundamental of all purposes has caused the public to see red. Limiting the posts and preventing public engagement not only goes directly against the mission statement of Twitter under its new CEO Linda Yaccarino but also negates the efficiency of the media platform by preventing it from being “social” and accessible to the people.

To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day– Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day– New unverified accounts to 300/day

As irony would have it, the new rules also come at a controversial time as 2022’s highly publicized and scandalous personality,Amber Heard, who was embroiled in the high-profile defamation lawsuit filed by former Hollywood actorJohnny Depp, now returns to social media after nearly a year’s absence. Heard had also dated Twitter’s former CEO, Elon Musk, for a brief period in 2016 shortly after filing for a divorce from her then-husband, Depp.
