When the Infinity Saga came to an end there was one question in everyone’s mind – who would be the next big villain in the MCU? Many expected Kang to be the answer. Thanos was the bad guy who had been built up for more than half a decade. Everything was leading up to an epic fight that culminated in his defeat inAvengers: Endgame.Filling those shoes was going to be a big task for anyone. And many believed that the purple time traveler would be the perfect successor.

MCU’s next big villain – Kang
Kang the Conqueror is a major villain in Marvel Comics. He is an entity that has tormented numerous galaxies, being one of the most dreaded villains. No wonder people considered him to be the front-runner for replacing Thanos.
The predictions are not amiss. He has what it takes. Fans even got their first glimpse of Kang in Michael Waldron’sLokias the mastermind behind the Time Variance Authority. Though he may have died in that reality, there was no doubt about the fact that we were going to see more of him.

What could have been

Kang returned to the big screen withAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.And in great strength, that is. Fans were treated to a version that had the potential to dominate the multiverse. The only catch was he wasn’t that powerful.

Johnathan Majors’ character in the 2023 flick had the power to produce energy platforms, energy beams, and an energy shield dome. And it all depended on the suit he wore. But a new concept art by Aleksi Briclot has shown us that the time traveler could have an ace up his sleeve.

Kang’s invincible technique
The video, shared by Aleksi Briclot via Instagram, gave us a glimpse into what Kang’s potential powers were. The multiversal entity deployed two“ghosts”of himself from either of his hands. Ghosts which could have dealt some real damage.
The apparitions were more than mere distractions, as they possessed the power to operate independently of their progenitor while protecting his flanks and dealing a little damage as well. And fans believe that this technique will be added to his arsenal real soon – forSecret Wars, that is. It remains to be seen how our beloved heroes deal with this menace.
