A specific British reality show has piqued the interest of actressJennifer Lawrence. During an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, she expressed her fascination with the show’s concept and praised the British for their abundance of outstanding television programs likeDon’t Tell the Bride, ideal for stress relief. Despite these shows being dismissed as“garbage”by some, Lawrence firmly believes they are real entertainment. Thus, it is safe to say that she is indeed a huge fan! She stated,
“I’m watching this fascinating dynamic, there’s the narcissist that clearly has borderline [personality disorder]. I love diagnosing people with borderline on reality TV. So anyway, I’m studying, and I’m a hero. That’s all I have to say about it. You guys [in the U.K.] have the best reality show ever: Don’t Tell the Bride.”

Lawrence then elaborated on her deep affection for the show by sharing her insights, successfully and passionately convincing her fans to watch the show. She said,
“The groom plans the entire wedding, and the bride can’t know about it. And sometimes it’s great and romantic and like, “Oh, these colors are horrible, but thank you, honey.” And then sometimes, they break up over it. One woman was like, “Not Vegas. Not Vegas. Not Vegas.” Guess what? It was Vegas. And he didn’t invite her sister. Borderline!”

But pure entertainment isn’t the only reason she loves to watch shows like these, she also has a keen interest in observing human behavior in various situations and analyzing people’s reactions. Essentially, she disclosed that while watching these shows brings her great comfort, she also leverages her insights to improve her on-screen performance, to make herself a better actor.

Woody Harrelson Shamed Jennifer Lawrence for Her Obsession
Although Jennifer Lawrence considered it part of her work and research,Woody Harrelson, her co-star inThe Hunger Games, didn’t quite share the same enthusiasm as hers. Despite their strong friendship, Harrelson did not hesitate to be totally honest with Lawrence’s fondness for these shows, going so far as to criticize them as“garbage.”
In the same THR interview, the actress revealed,
“May I attempt to defend myself? I had to defend myself to Woody Harrelson. He came into my trailer and was like, “Are you really going to watch this garbage?” And here’s what I have to say about the garbage: You’re watching interpersonal relationships that are real. As far as I can see, they’re real. I’ve never made a reality TV show, so it’s real, it’s real, it’s real.”
She remained firm in her decisions, even though she acknowledged that not everyone would appreciate shows like this and was aware that she offended her co-stars on set, she stood her ground.
