Marvel announced its upcoming films in phase 5 and phase 6 of the MCU. The President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, introduced two upcoming phases of the MCU with upcoming movies and shows. One of the most anticipated movies in this lineup wasFantastic Four. The ongoing phase 4 will conclude with the release ofWakanda Forever.Phase 5 will start withAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania, and phase 6 withFantastic Four.

However, recent reports have claimed otherwise, saying thatFantastic Fourwill not be the first film in phase 6 of the MCU. It would not be the first time when Marvel has shifted things around. The studio has changed its fixed schedule by adding a new film to the already established calendar.

Marvel Adds An Untitled Movie in the MCU Lineup to Release on July 11, 2025
Marvel has recently moved an untitled film from August 08, 2025, to July 21, 2025. The movie comes afterThunderboltsand two months before the release ofFantastic Four. Earlier,Fantastic Fourwas set to kick off phase 6 of the MCU.
With the new addition, fans are questioning whetherFantastic Fourwould still kick off phase 6. The name of the film is not released yet. But fans seem to have an idea about which movie may be joining the MCU on July 23, 2025.

According to the D23 announcement,Thunderboltswas concluding phase 5 of the MCU. Now that an untitled film is added in between, it can either conclude phase 5 or start phase 6 of the MCU.
If the film concludes phase 5, then Matt Shakman’sFantastic Fourwould still be the first film of phase 6. The lineup could have been interrupted due to the delay in theFantastic Fourfilming.

Marvel Studios has not revealed any details about the film except its release date and that Matt Shakman is directing it. Details about the cast of the film and when it will start production are still under wraps.
Which Movie is This Untitled Addition?
So far, the untitled film is expected to beDeadpool 3. Fans are expecting Deadpool 3 to kick off phase 6 of the MCU. However, one question is, if Marvel was planning it all along, why did they not announce it at D23 Expo? As Marvel has the rights to the character, Deadpool may make his MCU debut with his next film in phase 5 or phase 6.
Another film can be Spider-Man 4. During press interviews forSpider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel, and Sony confirmed that Spider-Man would appear in an MCU crossover. They also hinted at another Spider-Man film. However, we may not see another Spider-Man film before Holland’s next appearance in the MCU.

The untitled movie is also expected to be an unannounced Scarlet Witch movie. Fans are sure that Wanda will return afterDoctor Strange 2. Many even believe that she can make a comeback with the upcoming Disney+ seriesAgatha: Coven of Chaos.
These are not the only films that are expected to join the MCU in phase 5 and phase 6. Fans believe that the untitled movie can beShang-Chi 2as well.
For now, Marvel has just announced the unnamed movie and its rerelease date. So, according to announcements made at D23 Expo, Fantastic Four will kick off phase 6 with its release on August 06, 2025.
