CoD Vanguard February 22 update: MP-40 nerf, Killstreak bugfix, full patch notes
Sledgehammer Games released a new Call of Duty Vanguard update on February 22 which aims to fix the Counter-Spy Plane bug as well as introduce a nerf to the popular MP-40 SMG.
The studio has been working to mend some of the biggest problems facing the latest CoD title. We’ve seen the community raise concerns with aspects of Vanguard like itsbattle passandoverpowered guns labeled as ‘pay-to-win.’
While Sledgehammer works to address those specific concerns, the devs are shipping a fair amount of changes in their latest patch update to quell other issues that have come up.
Vanguard MP-40 nerf
One of themost popular weaponsin the Vanguard meta copped a nerf in the February 22 patch that will decrease the damage you dish at range.
As an SMG, the weapon must have been dealing more damage at a distance than the devs would have liked so the MP-40 is getting a balance change.
This shouldn’t have a major impact on the gun but something Vanguard players should keep note of when trying to finish off a player at longer distances.
Counter-Spy Plane fix for V-2 Rocket
The lowly 4-kill Counter-Spy Plane killstreak was found to have thecapabilities of preventing the 25-kill V-2 Rocket. But Sledgehammer are rectifying this bug with the Feb 22 patch.
This means that the Counter UAV will no longer block people from calling in their V-2’s, an interaction that was causing some headaches for Vanguard players.
Luckily, this shouldn’t be as big of an issue now that the devs are looking to keep the Counter-Spy Plane working as intended.
