Daniel Craig has made a name for himself as an exceptionally talented actor. Featuring in fiveJames Bondmovies, he has certainly created a legacy that will be difficult to follow with his departure from the massive franchise. Starting his career as 007, the actor appeared first inCasino Royale, followed byQuantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre,and finally his last film in the franchise,No Time To Die.

What made Craig stand out uniquely amongst other Bond actors was the fact that unlike them, he would do all of his stunts himself. With these movies being about spies and secret agencies, it is only natural that these stunts were very comprehensive and dangerous. So much so that Craig has sustained many injuries while playing the iconic character.

Daniel Craig Loves Doing His Stunts Himself

While playing the role of James Bond,Daniel Craighas done a lot of incredibly risky stunts himself. Gary Powell, a stunt co-ordinator on two of theBondfilms, explained that Craig loves getting his hands dirty and challenges himself to do all of his stunts himself, regardless of fear. An example of this was that despite the fact that he is afraid of heights, the actor jumped out of a window on a three-story building onto a moving bus.

“He gets his hands very dirty,”Gary Powell said.“Daniel puts the work in, even if it’s something he’s not keen on.”

These dangerous stunts always come with a price, one that Craig has been paying ever since his first Bond film, where the actor ended up losing a tooth and a dentist had to be flown out from London to treat him. This is only the tip of the iceberg or one could say, the tip of the finger.

Daniel Craig Lost The Tip Of His Finger While FilmingQuantum of Solace

While filming the secondJames Bondmovie,Quantum of Solace,Daniel Craig sustained quite a few, very concerning injuries. The actor sliced the tip of his finger off, which resulted in everyone there freaking out and looking for the missing part of his body. While they were unable to find it, Craig stated that the injury wasn’t that serious as he had just lost the very tip of his finger and the doctors simply cauterized it.

“It wasn’t as extreme as all that. I lost the pad,”he said at the time,“I was bleeding a lot,” he continued. “I had to get it cauterized. Filming stopped and everybody went, ‘Oh my God! He sliced the end of his finger off!’ They went looking for it, but couldn’t find it.”

Craig has also hurt himself on other occasions, with some examples being the time that the actor got into a collision on-set that caused cuts to his face, which resulted in him getting eight stitches and plastic surgery. There was another instance where he had to get surgery on his shoulder that put in six pins to avoid further damage. Craig has also sustained multiple minor knee injuries over the years due to this deeply taxing role.
