Last week, industry insider Jeff Sneider shared onThe Hot Micpodcast that the streaming giant, Netflix, wantsDavid Fincherto direct theSquid Gameremake. Netflix’s 2021 survival drama was highly praised by viewers and was a commercial and critical hit. There have been talks of the show’s remake for a while.

And recent reports have claimed that the Oscar nominee has decided to take the job. According to Jeff Sneider, Fincher has agreed to direct the US version ofSquid Game.TheSevendirector has years long experience of working with psychological thrillers and could do a great job with theSquid Gameremake as well.

However, there have been questions raised why Netflix or theFight Clubdirector does not want to continue the ongoing shows. His crime series,Mindhunterwas canceled by the streaming giant after two seasons. He explained that the reason behind the show’s cancellation was its high budget and it was not getting enough reception to continue it.
