We are less than two months away from a stacked plethora of content and Disney is ramping up their marketing for the 59th animated motion picture,Raya and the Last Dragon! Back in December during Disney’s Investor’s Meeting, WDAS chief creative officer Jennifer Lee announced that the film would get a dual release in theaters and on Disney+ via Premier Access. The movie is scheduled for March 5th! This morning Disney released a brand new trailer giving fans a little more insight into the movie’s characters, plot, and the beautiful southeast Asian-inspired fantasy world of Kumandra!

Joining Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina areEternals’Gemma Chan as Raya’s nemesis, Namaari;Hellboy’sDaniel Dae Kim as Raya’s visionary father, Benja;Grey’s AnatomySandra Oh as Namaari’s powerful mother, Virana;Doctor Strange’sBenedict Wong as Tong, a formidable giant;Good Boys’Izaac Wang as Boun, a 10-year-old entrepreneur;LIttle’sThalia Tran as the mischievous toddler Little Noi;Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’sAlan Tudyk as Tuk Tuk, Raya’s best friend and trusty steed;Freaky Friday’sLucille Soong as Dang Hu, the leader of the land of Talon;A Simple Favor’sPatti Harrison as the chief of the Tail land; andShazam’sRoss Butler as chief of the Spine land. Wowza! What a cast!
So far the movie looks absolutely incredible! It’s different than anything the mouse house has made from their previous animated outings. I’m totally digging theIndiana Jones/Tomb Raidervibe it’s giving off.Raya and the Last Dragonis directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, with Paul Briggs and John Ripa co-directing. Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho are the producers, and Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim are the writers.
