Dragon Ball Zfans have always boasted that they have the strongest warriors in the anime-verse. For many years, people thought it to be true. The comic fans have often argued with that and brought up several names that can beat Goku without breaking a sweat. While some of them are interesting, others, not so much.
Even fans of other anime have also tried to put up names from their favorite anime that can defeatDragon Ball’s Goku. The most recent name to hit this panel is Saitama. ButDragon Ballfans are not impressed with Saitama. There is another anime character though, that has a cent percent chance of defeating Goku. That character is none other thanDeath Note’s Ryuk.
Death Note’s Ryuk Can DefeayDragon Ball’s Goku
Dragon Ballfans might think that Goku can beat Ryuk into a pulp. They will argue that once Goku goes Ultra Instinct, Ryuk won’t be a much of threat. Moreover, Ryuk looks like a starved human with a twisted face and wings, while Goku is made of pure muscles. Goku’s raw strength is enough to beat him. But there is actually a strong theory on how Ryuk can beat the possibly stronger protagonist in the anime-verse.

The points put forward by theDragon Ballfans are correct, but they forget that Ryuk is a shinigami (God of Death). No mortal can see him or feel him unless they have theDeath Note.Even if a person is invisible, Goku can feel their Chi (Spiritual energy) and locate them. But Ryuk does not have it. He is intangible and cannot be sensed.
Other than that, theDeath Noteis in Ryuk’s possession. Just writing down Goku’s name will be the end of the Saiyan. If Ryuk wants to have fun, he might write an entire situation about Goku’s death. But if he is in a hurry to gobble his favorite apples, he will just write his name, and within a few seconds, Goku will be in the history books.

Is There Any Counter Measures To Ryuk?
Goku can try all of his techniques, but it won’t be much help. Goku cannot defeat Ryuk since there is no countermeasure to theDeath Note. The best thing that can be done is to get hold of Ryuk’sDeath Note. As long as theDeath Noteremains with Goku, Ryuk will not hurt him. Writing down Ryuk’s name in theDeath Notewill also do no good since he is a shinigami.
Another thing thatDragon Ball’s protagonist can do is offer him tons of apples. This might be an unorthodox method, but it might let Goku avoid unnecessary death.Dragon Ballfans can argue, but that does not change anything about Goku facing certain death if he goes one-on-one with Ryuk.
