Super-speed has long been considered one of the most superior superpowers, and in recent times, Marvel appears to have taken the lead over DC in portraying this ability in a captivating manner on camera especially, according to some fans. While Ezra Miller’s portrayal of The Flash was once synonymous with super-speed, the introduction of Makkari in the MCU’sEternalshas most certainly redefined the game.

Super-Speed Showdown: Marvel or DC Who Did It the Best?
In the realm of depicting super-speed on screen, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is far ahead of DC. DespiteEzra Miller‘s Flash and Makkari both having their own respective dedicated fan bases,The Flashhas encountered substantial criticism in the past. This mostly stemmed from its shaky camera movements and inadequate framing as well as the ridiculously slow pace that failed to effectively capture the essence of super-speed amongst other things on the screen.
On the other hand however, despiteEternalsreceiving a lukewarm reception from both fans and critics in the market, it’s noteworthy that the movie managed to portray the aspect of super-speed through Makkari in a much more pleasing and captivating manner.

Makkari fromEternals, really showcased a seamless blend of cinematography, visual effects, and choreography, presenting a more immersive and thrilling experience of super-speed than what was seen in some DC adaptations.
While The Flash remains an iconic character known for his speedster abilities, the challenges in translating this power convincingly on screen have been a hurdle that some DC adaptations have faced. On the other hand, Marvel’s approach to crafting these super-speed moments has been more refined and generally better received by audiences as well as critics.

Do Fans Prefer Ezra Miller’s Flash Over Makkari?
Well, technicality is where the Flash loses the crown, to theEternalscharacter. Traditionally, speedster characters such as Quicksilver or Makkari are depicted in two distinct ways, either they move at an accelerated pace while the surroundings remain unchanged, or everything around them slows down while they move at normal speed. However, the DC portrayal involves Barry Allen moving in slow motion while the surrounding elements speed past him, a depiction that defies conventional logic and arguably lacks coherence in the context of super-speed abilities.
And that leads to many fans rooting for Makkari,

Makkari is 10x better than Flash.

Wow… it’s almost like super-speed looks cooler if you show it by having the character move really fast instead of having them move in slow-motion. Who’d’ve thought?

As much as I didn’t like the movie. I did like how they showed her powers.( Even though it doesn’t make sense to make it speedster deaf considering spoilers lol)

Despite the considerable admiration directed towards Makkari as evident from all the above fan reactions, let’s not forget that a significant number of individuals still prefer DC’s portrayal. Although the debate regarding which portrayal is superior will never find a definitive conclusion, for the time being, consensus leans towards the MCU’s depiction being the most favored and widely appreciated.
