HBO’sGame of Thronesis regarded as one of the best television series in history. The show ran for eight seasons from 2011 to 2019, and it has established a significant impact in pop culture and the field of entertainment.

Game Of Thrones And Its Legacy
Over the course of its run, the series won59 Emmys, breaking the record for the most number of nominations for a single show. Based onGeorge R.R. Martin’s novel,A Song of Ice and Fire,Game of Thronesbecame a worldwide phenomenon.
One of the best characters in the show isArya Stark, the daughter of Catelyn and Ned Stark of Winterfell. She is an ultimate fan-favorite for her ferocious attitude and progressive character development. Arya appeared in 59 episodes of the series and by the end of the show, she finally became the brave assassin that fans expected her to be.

Her growth in the series allowed viewers to witness everything, including her love life. Although she is one of the characters whose interest does not lie solely in romance, she still had a taste of it when she was paired with Gendry Baratheon in the final season.
Is Arya Stark Queer?
The actress admitted that she had something else in mind before this scene. In an interview withTeen Vogue, Williams revealed her assumption of Arya as a lesbian character.
“The first time that I was surprised by Arya I guess was probably in the final series where she whips off her clothes and sleeps with Gendry. I thought that Arya was queer, you know? So … yeah. That was a surprise,” confessed Williams.

Indeed, many fans also thought Arya was queer, and they were not impressed with her relationship with Gendry. In fact, there were many similar characters in the show, including Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) and Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal).
With her brief romance with Gendry, both Williams and fans assumed that Arya could also be bisexual. Now thatGame of Throneshas ended, Arya’s sexuality will be up to the viewers’ interpretations.
