Jackie Chan Recalled His Embarrassing Encounter With The Queen
Graham Norton‘s knack for drawing out amusing stories from his guests found a willing participant inJackie Chan. Chan and British actress Dawn French featured in one of the older episodes of the talk show, where the latter regaled the audience with her own story of meeting The Queen. Norton chipped in asking whetherThe Foreigneractor had ever met The Queen.
Jackie Chan had indeed met with The Queen during his earlier years in Hong Kong. TheArmour of Godactor was flustered by the encounter. Chan’s limited command of the English language made him especially nervous.The Spy Next Dooractor found a way around it – he intended to address her only as“Your Royal Highness”and not say another word.

However, anxiety got the better of him, and theRumble in the Bronxactor found himself completely blank in the presence of Her Majesty.

Jackie Chan Wanted The Queen To“Go Away”
The Queen however recognized Jackie Chan and started talking to him. TheDrunken Masteractor panicked and secretly wanted her to go away since he forgot what to say. Chan was of course happy to meet The Queen but he wanted the awkward interaction to end quickly. TheKung Fu Yogaactor recalled:
“She keep talking to me. My head is empty. I don’t know what she talking about. [mimicking a nervous smile and nod] Honestly, I was like ‘Go Away, Go Away! Leave me alone!’ Of course I am so happy standing there more than like three minute or five minute, but I was just like, ‘Go away, please! Please! Don’t talk to me anymore’. I don’t know how to answer back.”

Chan even did a quick impression of The Queen talking to him. The humble actor was open about how he felt at the time.
