Written by Steven Spielberg, the classic 80’s adventure film starred Sean Astin, Martha Plimpton, Josh Brolin, Ke Huy Quan and Corey Feldman. The story is about a group of kids, Mikey, Mouth, Data and Chunk, growing up in a small town and calling themselves “The Goonies”. They have a few rules, like “Goonies never say die!” Their newest adventure begins when they find a treasure map in Mickey’s attic. For many movie fans, The Goonies remains cult and one of these magical and timeless 80’s movies, just like E.T., Gremlins or Back to the Future.

These last few years, the popularity of movies and series focusing on a group of young kids increased. Shows like Stranger Things and films like Super 8 paid tribute to the classics we grew up watching. With this new original series, Fox is once again betting on the retelling of a well known and so far always successful recipe.
