Since being nerdy became a thing, movies have always been accompanied by merchandise. In some cases, movies have been made to sell merchandise, but only over the last five or so years has there been a huge boon of popular merchandise being available to everyone that is not only affordable but life-like – see Hasbro’s Marvel Legends series.
From their popular line of replica merchandise from the biggest movie franchise ever to the smaller representations of our favorite characters, Marvel Legends has it all. Whereas the other nerdy manufacturer Funko focuses on hyper-exaggerated versions of our favourite characters, Hasbro has taken the life-like side of things and made them affordable for the everyman to collect. Each new film brings a new wave of collectibles, be it the latest Marvel film, DC film or Star Wars property. There is something to appeal to every nerdy person.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Marvel Legends Brings the Misery to Life
There’s no getting around it,Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3is one of the more depressing entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with animal torture and experimentation being at the forefront of the film, and loss and sacrifice being major themes throughout. So to make life-like replicas of each of the Guardians was probably a tall order, but thankfully, they made the smart choice not to focus on the more miserable sections of the film.
Instead, anyone who wants to purchase the set will be glad to know each and every character is in the striking blue outfit worn in the film, and there’s no hint of animal torture or experimentation whatsoever. The standard opposable limbs are present with everyone, and the ‘Create-a-Character’ this time round is Cosmo. Purchase the entire set and you’ll end up getting to piece together the adorable psychic dog from James Gunn’s latest and last MCU outing.
All in all, there are nine Guardians to collect:
Surprisingly, there isn’t currently a Gamora available to round off the team, and it definitely leaves a sour taste in the mouth and feels like something is missing from the shelf. The sort of thing that once you notice it, you can’t unsee it, unfortunately.
By no stretch is this Hasbro’s best wave of Marvel Legends, and for the most part, they certainly seem to flourish when replicating the comic counterparts compared to that of the film versions, at least lately. However, theGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3wave does offer something the others don’t – a baby Rocket and a giant Groot with wings.

Moving on fromGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,Hasbro recently announced their next wave to be released will be six new figures for theirNo Way Homerange. Anyone who has seen the trilogy ender for Tom Holland’s latest outing as the webhead will soon tell you that the biggest and best moments were when the three Spider-Men were on screen together, and thankfully now we’re able to play out our own scenarios.
Included in the latest wave were Sandman, MJ, Matt Murdock, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, all with second, separate unmasked heads.
Separately to that was the announcement of two deluxe figures. One was Willem Dafoe’s excellent Green Goblin, balancing on a faithfully replicated glider, and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock. All will be available for purchase via Hasbro Pulse, with more information to be released for where those who aren’t a member can purchase.
