SinceIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destinywas the last movie from the multi-billion franchise thatHarrison Fordwill ever star in, everyone thought it would be a huge hit among fans that revives all the good memories shared with the movies in the past. However, the scene that unfolded was the exact opposite.
As per reports, the last film of the series which was released earlier this year in June has become one of the most epic flops from the franchise. The reviews it has gotten are even more terrible thanIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008),which will most definitely now be remembered as the second worst film from the series, coming after the 2023 edition.
In fact,Dial of Destiny‘s budget was even more than Marvel’sAvengersmovies. According to the numbers, the first Avengers movie,The Avengers (2012),with its epic VFX was made with a budget of $220 million and its global revenue was $1.3 billion, while the second Avengers movie in the series,Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015),with its even better video effects, had a budget of $250 million with its global revenue standing at $1.15 billion.
Surpassing both of these in terms of budget, Harrison Ford’s 2023 movie was made on a budget of $295 million. However, the movie couldn’t surpass the MCU films’ global box-office revenue as well and grossed a mere $368.8 million only at the box office worldwide.

If that wasn’t enough, according to records the most flopStar Warsmovie too has managed to outgrossIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.According to records,Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018),which is considered to be the worst movie from the franchise to ever be created, grossed a whopping $393 million during its run, which leaves the 2023 movie approximately $24.4 million behind.
All in all, despite making the other movies from his two most popular franchises superhits, Harrison Ford couldn’t manage to do the same with his last movie from the $1.96 billion franchise which has lost the race epically to even the most hated movie of all time despite its budget being more than MCU’s blockbuster movies.
