Helen Mirren Got Emotional When Brendan Fraser Won An Oscar
Helen Mirrendid an interview onThe Kelly Clarkson Show, where she was asked about the Oscars and if she found any moment in particular. The actress started by saying that she watched the ceremony, not from the comfort of her home, but at a restaurant. It was here that she mentioned that one particular moment during this, made her so emotional and happy that she started to cry, right there, in the middle of the restaurant.
“I cried when Brendan Fraser got the award,”stated Mirren.” He’s such a lovely person.”
The actress revealed that the reason why she was so emotional was when Brendan Fraser, best known for his work in projects likeThe Mummy, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Killers of the Flower Moon,andBlast from the Past, won the Academy Awards, in the category of Best Actor for his work in the 2022 film,The Whale. Her reason for such an intense reaction to the actor’s win was the fact that the actress thought that there was no one more deserving of this award than Fraser.

Helen Mirren Has Great Respect For Brendan Fraser
Helen Mirren then went on to tell onThe Kelly Clarkson Show,that she had such an intense reaction to Brendan Fraser’s big achievement because of how much she respects him as an individual and an actor. She mentioned the time that the two worked together on Inkheart, and it was here that she started to get to know just how amazing a person he is.
“I’m sure you know what a beautiful man he is. He’s a magical man — he was clearly very very moved it was a huge moment for him,”continued the legendary actress.“It was the right person for me — the way he responded to it, I just found it very moving. It was the highlight for me out of the whole show.”
The actress then asked Clarkson if she knew the actor. When the singer replied that yes she did, and even had his on the show a couple of times, Mirren stated that then she much know just how magic he is as a person, adding that she understood what a big achievement it was for Fraser to win this award. She then added that it was because of this, and the fact that she was extremely moved that she started to cry.
