In an interview withVogue Australia, the actressJennifer Lawrenceopened up on her experience working in the horror filmMother. The star was particularly intrigued by the performance of actress Michelle Pfeiffer, who played the character of Woman who arrives at Lawrence’s house.
Talking about her initial thought of being face-to-face with the actress, Lawrence shared,

“I was blown away, I was so happy. I’ve been a fan of hers forever and have met her. I was just so happy she’s so nice so normal, incredibly talented.”
She explained her experience of working with her in the film,

“I think this is her best performance and just stunning to look at. I kind of had to stop myself from like cheekbones staring it right off. She was doing a scene where she was coming towards me and I was looking into her eyes, and I forgot my line. It was in different colors, it’s crazy, like the Caribbean.”
Motherreleased in 2017 and grossed $44.5 million worldwide against its $30 million budget.

Silver Lining Playbooklead Jennifer Lawrence shared in her interview withVanity Fairabout feeling intimidated by her co-star forMother. The actress was awestruck by the beauty ofScarfaceactressMichelle Pfeiffer. The actress revealed it took her three days to muster the courage to introduce herself to the diva.
Lawrence recalled,
“It took me three days to just get over her beauty, just to go up to her and say, ‘Hi.’ She’s just the most beautiful woman ever. And then there is Penelope Cruz, who visited Javier on set. I was just like, ‘Is there a room where I can just go hang myself?’ [Michelle] was just incredible and then when she started acting. . she brought so much. I think this is her greatest role.”
Jennifer Lawrence also talked about her character in the film,
“The character is really different than anything I had ever done, so I tried to find this new part of myself that I didn’t even know I had. I didn’t know I could be vulnerable. As the film goes on, more and more was demanded of me, and it was exhausting and dark.”
She also shared that she used to listen to music to distract her mind from the intense theme of the film. She shared,
“I would do a scene and then listen toBruce Springsteen’s ‘Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,’” Lawrence laughed. “Afterwards, Darren would come up to me with a note, and I’d be singing, ‘Santa Claus.’”
