Don’t miss out on the Flashlight in Stalker 2 because The Zone can be unforgiving for Skif when the lights go out.
Using theFlashlightis a central feature of the Stalker series. Even Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has kept this tool central to nighttime exploration. Ironically, though, the game doesn’t tell you directly how to use it.
The Flashlight is available for Skif to use from the first mission itself. However, there are no tutorials regarding how to toggle it on or off. In fact, there is no single button that you may press to toggle the light. This has probably confused the player base even further.
Fortunately, you may turn on the Flashlight in the game by opening the weapon wheel. Don’t look for the tool on the wheel itself, though. Apart from the wheel, there are four tools shown on the left and right sides of the radial. The upper right tool here, on the bottom, is the flashlight that you can access using the following buttons if you have default settings:

Previous Stalker games, likeShadow of Chernobyl (2007)andClear Sky (2008), had a limited battery life for their flashlights. This added another element of survival to the game. However, the developers removed this system back in 2009 with the release ofCall of Pripyat.
The studio kept the trend from 2009 in the latestHeart of Chornobyl. So, you don’t have to worry about exhausting your Flashlight if you keep using it in The Zone, whether exploring at night or visiting someplace dark, even in broad daylight.
This is probably because the map is huge, and the ‘Stalkers’ playing the game would have a difficult time finding flashlight batteries. However, if the game had added a difficulty mode where players needed to search for batteries, it probably would have been an interesting mechanic.
Regardless of whether you support the infinite flashlight or not, there is only one way you may toggle it on or off.
