Samuel L. Jackson’s role as Nick Fury in Marvel projects is getting lots of appreciation from the viewers. The 74-year-old actor has worked in numerous box office hits and has been given some iconic roles in the past years. Some of his notable projects includePulp Fiction, The Hateful Eight, A Time to Kill, Die Hard, The Long Kiss Goodnight, and Captain America: First Avenger, among others. Despite his remarkable acting skills and some iconic roles, the actor has never been the recipient of an Oscar.

Considered one of the most bankable actors in the Hollywood industry, Samuel L. Jackson has worked in the industry for several decades. The star has worked with almost all the popular directors, and some of his dialogues are very popular among the fans. The remarkable actor has been attached to several high-grossing franchises likeStar Wars, Marvel Cinematic Universe,The Kingsmanfranchise, and more.

Samuel L. Jacksonhas worked in hundreds of movies, however, he never won an Oscar. He received just one honorary award for the same. However, the actor feels he could have won it for at least four of his films. In conversation withVulture, he shared,

“Didn’t feel honorary, just felt like I was getting an Oscar. I earned it. I worked for it. I can possibly name four other instances where I could have won or should have won or should have been nominated, but I’m fine with it. It’s mine. I got it. My name’s on it.”

The actor has received an Oscar nomination only once in his career, for his role in the 1994 filmPulp Fiction.

Samuel L. Jackson on what kept him away from the Oscars

Jackson shared in the interview about the instances, which took Oscar away from him. He shared that some of his highly impactful scenes were cut in the final movies. The actor revealed a long dialogue inA Time To Kill, which was deleted from the film,

“The things they took out kept me from getting an Oscar. Really, motherf*ckers? You just took that shit from me? My first day working on that film, I did a speech in a room with an actor and the whole fucking set was in tears when I finished. I was like, Okay. I’m on the right page. That shit is not in the movie! And I know why it’s not. Because it wasn’t my movie, and they weren’t trying to make me a star.”

“That was one of the first times that I saw that sh*t happen. There are things that I’ve done in other movies where I said, “Wait a minute. Why did you take that moment out of the movie?” Because the moment, in that movie, it’s bigger than the movie.”

The actor did not reveal the movies for which he thought he deserved an Oscar, however, some of his most notable works wereJungle Fever, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Negotiator, Unbreakable, Jackie Brown, and more.
