But the character didn’t achieve this success overnight and had his fair share of struggles during his early days.

Paul Rudd revealed one of his most painful as well as hilarious experiences when the Marvel fame revealed that he had to sleep on a dumpster mattress forcefully. As stated by theAvengers: Endgameactor, his financial condition didn’t even permit him to throw away a free mattress.

What forced Paul Rudd to sleep on a dumpster mattress?
There was a time whenPaul Ruddeven couldn’t afford his rent. The Marvel favorite had to live in his friends’ house. But finally, when theGhostbusters: Afterlifeactor founda flat, he had one of the worst experiences. The mattress that he found for free cost him hard when it caused some serious skin issues.
The Scott Lang actor talked about the incident in various interviews. While speaking to Conan O’Brien, Rudd wasn’t hesitant to admit that he had to stay at his friends’ house for some time where he even had to sleep on towels. Although the actor soon got hold of an apartment, he faced immense trouble finding furniture. This led to Paul Rudd keeping a mattress he got from a dumpster which caused him some serious issues.

“I started crashing at our friend’s house, cuz I couldn’t afford rent. I laid down a bunch of towels. I slept on about five towels for a while. And then, I was able to get an apartment in the complex and actually found a mattress in the dumpster in the car port and I thought ‘Sweet! Free mattress’. So I hauled it up to my new apartment. Slept on it. Woke up the next morning covered in red bumps.”

The incident grew weirder as theCluelessfame stated that he kept the mattress even after all the trouble. All he did was to put some Lysol and according to the 54-year-old, it was enough for him.
“But I kept it. I think I sprayed it with Lysol and then I just like ‘Eh…’ and cause when you’re 20, you’re just like ‘Eh…’ and then eventually just the bumps went away.”

Paul Rudd was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2021. He commented sarcastically in an interview with Seth Meyers about how weird it was for the Sexiest Man to get up with red bumps on his body. But as much as the incident made everyone laugh, it also made us realize the hard and long journey that theRomeo+Julietactor went through to reach such heights.

Rudd will voice the character of Mondo Gecko. Following that, the Golden Globe nominee will also return to his role of Gary Grooberson in the untitled sequel toGhostbusters: Afterlife.
