Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in theHarry Potterseries, spoke toAccess Hollywoodfor a tell-all interview. He shared what it was like meeting Emma for the first time:
“Emma and I have always been very dear to each other but didn’t start that way. She was nine when we first met, and I was 12. And I think I was a bit of a cocky teenager going on 25. But yeah, we’ve been dear friends all our lives, and she was very encouraging, actually, for me to continue writing these stories down to make them into a book.”

The actor has been open about his special friendship withEmmaWatson since the beginning. He even admitted that there was really something between them – a spark – although not what fans would hope for. In his interview withDaily Mail, he said:
“I’ve always had a secret love for Emma, though not perhaps in the way that people might want to hear. That isn’t to say that there’s never been a spark between us. There most definitely has, only at different times.”

It is no secret thatFeltonhas been debunking gossip about him and theBeauty and the Beastactress dating since he was 15. Watson, who played Hermione Granger in theHarry Potterfilms, has admitted her feelings towards her co-star previously. The actor felt the need to expound on this issue in his book:
“Rumors started to abound that there was more to our relationship than we were letting on. I denied that I liked her in that way, but the truth was different.”
He also confessed his former girlfriend knew that “there was something unspoken” between Felton and Watson. The actor resorted to old lines such as “I love her like a sister” despite knowing there was more to it.

It’s A Platonic Kind Of Relationship
Moreover, fans’ favorite Slytherin admitted that he always admired Watson. “I don’t think I was ever in love with Emma, but I loved and admired her as a person in a way that I could never explain to anybody else…. We were kindred spirits.” In the same interview withAccess Hollywood, Felton revealed that they never had a ‘no dating pact’ despite the chemistry.
Watson wrote in the foreword of Tom Felton’s memoir: “For more than 20 years now we’ve loved each other in a special way,” and the actress admitted it is the purest kind of love she can think of. She believed that Felton is her ‘soul mate’ and they will always have each other’s back no matter what.
