Miriam Margolyes’ Recounted Her Bad Experience With Arnold Schwarzenegger

In one particular scene, she was killed by having her throat slit against a glass table. As she lay still on the floor, theRomeo + Julietactress alleged that theEscape Planactor farted right in her face.
Margolyes already was not a fan of Schwarzenegger before the accusation. She had previously called him a“pig of a man”and condemned him for the groping allegations that surfaced during the 2003 election when he was elected as the Governor of California. During an appearance on theI’ve Got News for Youpodcast, Margolyes explicitly stated her dislike for his Republican affiliation, before diving into the fart story. Margolyes shared:

“He was actually quite rude. He farted in my face. Now, I fart. Of course I do — but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face. I was playing Satan’s sister, and he was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn’t escape and lying on the floor. And he just farted. It wasn’t on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven’t forgiven him for it.”
The Age of Innocenceactress made these accusations earlier too in an interview with Reader’s Digest. Her honest conversations in interviews have earned Margolyes a dedicated following of fans, many of whom seemed to believe her story.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Refused To Comment On The Accusation
When Miriam Margolyes first revealed this fart story, it didn’t gain much attention and was largely dismissed by the media. However, the story got significant traction the second time around, thanks to Margolyes’ viral interviews. Several news outlets reported the story and Variety even reached out to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s representatives for a response. However, there was no reaction from Schwarzenegger to the accusations.

On the show, when asked about her experience shooting forHarry Potter, Margolyes frankly replied that she got along withMaggie Smithbut she didn’t like the“one that died”, referring toRichard Harris.
