Hollywood writers have been relentless in their pursuit of equal wages for over two months now and joining the congregation are actors who too, have borne the brunt of the industry’s neglect. But while the labor dispute continues to unravel with full vigor, Disney CEO Bob Iger found a bone to pick of his own with the unions for adding to the world’s“disruption”with their seemingly quixotic demands. And now, after Bryan Cranston, Tatiana Maslany – who led Disney’sShe-Hulkseries – has spoken against the top brass’ admonishing outburst, and she did not hold back.

WGA, SAG-AFTRA – Tatiana Maslany Fires Back at Bob Iger
On May 2, writers in the film and television industry went on strike to protest against unfair pay and AI usurpation; now actors too, are trickling down the streets of LA and NYC to join the picket lines. And while the majority of Hollywood seems to be in solidarity with them, the CEO of one of the biggest studios,Bob Iger, deemed this battle to be a very“disturbing”and“unrealistic”one. ButTatiana Maslanybegs to differ.
Speaking to THR from the picket lines in New York City, Maslany, 37, said how she’s witnessed friends and colleagues, who’ve been in the industry for easily 3-4 decades, struggle with something as basic as healthcare because of their bare minimum wages. So, for Iger to slam writers/actors who’re fighting for just compensation, the Canadian actress believed, was a completely ignorant move on his part.

“I think he’s completely out of touch. He’s completely out of touch with the workers who make his shows happen, who make people watch these shows, who bring viewers to him and him money.”
And that’s not all; it looks like theOrphan Blackstar has firsthand witnessed the stark and sordid reality of the studio, and that’s coming from someone who’s been the leading woman of a Marvel show herself.

The Shocking Reality of Working On A Disney Show
Maslany didn’t just blast Iger for sidelining major workplace issues, she also chided him and the entire studio for“taking advantage”of people – the likes of which include the crew behind the cameras, the screenwriters, and the actors themselves – despite them putting their blood, sweat, and tears in the project.
“Having worked on a Disney show, I know where people fall through the cracks and where people are taken advantage of and it’s outrageous the amount of wealth that is not shared with the people who actually make the show. That’s crew, cast, writers.”
