Kanye Westcouldn’t wait till morning to apologize for his weird behavior toTaylor Swiftduring her Best Female Video win. He said,“I’M SOOOOO SORRY,”in all caps characters on his personal blog. It was posted before the VMAs broadcast even ended, adding,“I’M IN THE WRONG.”The superstar’s post reads:
“I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! Taylor Swift on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Feud That Almost Ended Her Career
The 33-year-old explained that the public’s reactions felt like“a career death”and“took [her] down psychologically to a place [she’d] never been before.”“Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me,”theGorgeoussinger commented.
“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,”she recalled and continued:
“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”
Tay responded to the viral moment by releasing the revenge-themed Reputation, but she continued to face ongoing struggles with the critical reaction. She initially feared it would define her negatively. But eventually, she learned to focus.
