While doing an interview on KIIS FM’sKyle and Jackie Oshow,Nicole Kidmanwas asked by Kyle Sandilands if she had approved of the songGeminibefore its release. Kidman revealed that she tries not to interfere with Keith Urban’s art as such. She said,
“I don’t censor his art if I can be a muse for it. It is embarrassing but at the same time it’s better than saying, ‘God I’m so bored. Make an effort Nicole.'”
Kyle Sandilands did not stop there and mentioned a line in the song where Urban says, “She’s waking to make love in the middle of the night,” but theBig Little Liesactress was done answering questions aboutGeminiat that point and said,
“No, what?! You’re making that up, Kyle. Shut up. I’m not answering that, that’s outrageous.”

However, once in an interview withEntertainment Tonight,The Fightersinger that he actually came up with the song while he was in the studio. He said,
“No, that’s why I got so intimate, I’m sure. I was missing her, maybe. When I create, rarely do I have a set idea. ‘Gemini’ started with the four of us in that room — Ian Kirkpatrick, Justin Tanit and Julia Michaels, and myself. Ian had a cool groove going and I started playing guitar and the melody starts coming. Justin and Julia are asking me about Nic, ‘Tell us about Nic.’ And I said, ‘Well, she’s a Gemini,’ and they’re like, ‘Ooh.’ And Julia starts singing, ‘Baby, she’s both,’ and the song just started to take off from there.”

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban first met in 2005 and they got married in 2006. The couple have 2 daughters together, Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith Margaret, 12. Urban also made headlines earlier this year when he opened his Las Vegas concert with the 2010 song,Without You,and some footage from his and Kidman’s 2006 wedding was flashed on the big screen.
