Harry Potter Director onFantastic Beasts‘ Future
After working on fourHarry Potterfilms,David Yatesbrought back the magical world with its spin-off seriesFantastic BeastsstarringEddie Redmayne,Johnny Depp, and many others. However, Depp, who portrayed Gellert Grindelwald in the first two films, was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen in the threequel.
The third film in the series also failed at the box office, and theFantastic Beastsfranchise has since taken a pause. However, the director is still hopeful to continue the movie series, as he revealed that he had no idea that“there were going to be five films,”as Rowling claimed at an event.

“No one had told us there were going to be five. We’d committed to the first one…,”he said during an appearance on theInside Total Filmpodcast before adding,“I’m sure at some point, we’ll be back.”However, he also stated that he has not talked about the same with theHarry Potterauthor, producer, or the studio.
“I haven’t spoken to Warner Bros; we’re just taking a pause. It’s quite nice. It allows me to do stuff like this,”he said, referring to his latest crime drama,Pain Hustlers, starring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans. The director has expressed his desire to work on some“real world”movies after spending a long time working on the magical franchise.

David Yates Doesn’t Want to be Involved inHarry PotterReboot
During a recent interview withComicBook.com, David Yates broke his silence on the upcomingHarry Potterreboot series. Yates has worked on original film series, fromThe Order of the PhoenixtoThe Deathly Hollows – Part 2.However, he has claimed that he is not interested in returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
“Do you know what? Honestly, I could not, in any conceivable way, get involved,”he said, claiming that he has spent a long time in“those corridors and in those classrooms.”Although he doesn’t plan to join theHarry Potterreboot, he has offered his best wishes to the new team to“re-explore all it can be for the next generation.”
