Tom Holland Was Just at the Right Place at the Right Time

Speaking on theJay Shettypodcast, the Marvel Star recalled that as a kid he had no ambitions of becoming an actor, as he only did it as a hobby and was more focused on pursuing a career in dancing. But as the story goes, he eventually landed a part inBilly Elliot the Musicalafter he was spotted in his dance class, which fortunately for him, was also attended by an agent, who’d go on to sign the actor.
Not long after that, she sent him to an audition for 2012’sTheImpossible, and all of a sudden, he was on set working with Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, and the actor was only 14 at the time. He recalled,

“Just by complete fluke, an agent came to see the show [Billy Elliot the Musical], the night I was on, she signed me, she sent me to an audition for a film, I was lucky enough to get the part. All of a sudden I was on set with Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, and we made The Impossible… So I never really wanted this. I just sort of never stopped doing it and I love it.”
And while Holland loves collaborating with other artists and the creativity in the field, the actor explained that he isn’t a big fan of Hollywood itself.
