Actress Sydney Sweeney is the talk of the town thanks to her upcoming romantic-comedy filmAnyone but You. While the young Hollywood star was promoting her new film, she did an interview where Sweeney candidly spoke about her body image issues when she was younger, mainly because of her breast size.

In the new interview, Sweeney revealed she was uncomfortable with her breasts when she was younger and even contemplated undergoing surgery. However, the actress was talked out of the surgery and worked to become more comfortable in her own skin. Here is what Sweeney said about her body image struggles and finding empowerment through it.

Sydney Sweeney Contemplated Undergoing Surgery at 18 Years Old
Sydney Sweeneyrose to prominence with her captivating performance as Cassie Howard in the HBO teen drama seriesEuphoria. Since then, Sweeney has branched into several diverse projects, including the rom-comAnyone but You, starring oppositeGlen Powell. Ahead of the film’s release, Sweeney spoke withGlamour UKand discussed various topics.
In the interview, Sweeney responded candidly when asked about the headlines and online comments generated because of her body. Sweeney stated that she does not let such comments affect her and is proud of her body. The 26-year-old further revealed that she once contemplated getting a breast reduction surgery when she was younger.

“When I was in high school, I used to feel uncomfortable about how big my bbs were, and I used to say that when I turned 18, I was going to get a bb job to make them smaller.”
However, Sweeney’s mother talked her out of the idea, and the young actress is glad about her decision. Sweeney said that her mother convinced her she would regret getting the surgery when she was in college and has only grown more comfortable in her own skin as time has passed.

Sydney Sweeney Finds Empowerment in Embracing Her Body
In the same interview, Sydney Sweeney spoke about how she came to terms with her body. The actress admitted to wearing oversized sweatshirts in high school to disguise her breast size, and it took a long time for her to become confident with her body. Sweeney expressed that going from covering up her body to being confident made her feel empowered, and she wanted to pass on that feeling to young girls.
“I want to show girls that it’s amazing and beautiful and empowering to have the bodies that we have.”

Sweeney stated she believes everyone’s body is beautiful and must learn to be confident and happy with it. Thus, Sweeney’s comments are enlightening and empowering for those facing body image issues.
