Charlize Theron could have been a part of the critically acclaimed blockbusterChicago.The 2002 musical black comedy movie starring Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the lead was also slated to have Theron before she was replaced with Renée Zellweger. The movie got a success on both critical as well as commercial grounds and even went on to receive 6 Academy Awards.

But eventually, the story took a different turn when the director of the movie was changed and Marshall didn’t want Charlize Theron. The role eventually went to Renée Zellweger who also earned an Oscar nomination for that role.
