Why Is Call of Duty’s Most Iconic Developer Leaving?
After so many years working onCall of Dutygames, David Vonderhaar has been through many different roles, and has worked on eight differentCall of Dutytitles which have been released over the years. Now he has unfortunately chosen to move on from Treyarch andCall of Dutyto a brand-new project to which he described as “a rare and unique opportunity.” He is also sad about the choice he has had to make to move on from Treyarch.
Upon leaving Treyarch, David Vonderhaar issued a post on his LinkedIn describing how he feels after making this choice to leave by stating:

“To my co-workers at Treyarch, I am immensely grateful for the time we invested working to improve our craft.“
It shows how muchCall of Dutyand Treyarch has affected his time in this line of work and how much he will miss being in this company working with the people he has spent so much time with.

How Will This Affect Call of Duty in the Future?
Losing a long-term employee will always affect a company in many ways that won’t be clear from the start, but with David Vonderhaar leaving Treyarch, could cause a lot of different issues. These issues most likely won’t happen, but with the loss of such a long-term employee who has been helping to advanceCall Of Dutyover the years is a big deal. He has been an integral part of the teams he has worked with throughout the years and will be bringing those skills he has learned to a new project.
So far, this won’t affectCall of Dutyin the long run as there are a lot of developers working for Treyarch who have a lot of experience with these games and will ensure gamers will constantly be receiving a well-developed experience. But for now, David leaving shouldn’t affect the overall development of any upcomingCall of Dutygames that will be coming out any time soon.
