During today’s Apple Event, the company showed off the many new features and capabilities of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. While the base model of the 15 appears very similar to the 14 Pro from last year, both models will finally see the addition of USB-C ports.
However, the 15 Pro is what will amaze people this year, with the reveal that multiple games designed to run on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 will be available right in your pocket.Resident Evil 4‘s critically acclaimed remake,Resident Evil Village, and evenAssassin’s Creed Mirage,will all be released for the iPhone 15 Pro.

Apple made it clear there is a larger push than ever to make iPhone 15 Pro a viable choice for dedicated gamers everywhere. Most users are likely accustomed to mobile gaming being synonymous with stripped-down and smallscale games, but with this reveal, the gap between full-scale console gaming and mobile gaming has become smaller than ever before.
iPhone 15 Pro Supports Console Quality Games
With iPhone 15 Pro, console-quality games will now be possible right on your phone. Many games were shown off today, includingThe Division: ResurgenceandGenshin Impact,but the most impressive reveals of the day were most certainlyResident Evil 4,Resident Evil Village, andAssassin’s Creed Mirage.
While no exact dates were provided, theResident Eviltitles will be released on the iPhone 15 Pro later this year, whileResurgenceandMiragewill make their way to the device in Early 2024.
Gameplay was briefly shown ofResident Evil VillageandResident Evil 4on the device, making it clear that it will indeed be the full versions of both of these games on the phone. Gameplay from the minecart sequence inResident Evil 4was shown off, as well as brief glimpses of various sequences fromVillage, including the boss fight with Lady Dimitrescu.
Developers for games talked about being excited about the sorts of graphical capabilities of the device, including ray tracing and high-quality water effects.
This is all made possible thanks to the A17 Pro chip in the device, which will also be encased in Titanium for incredible durability. Don’t expect to get this kind of mobile gaming power for cheap, though. The iPhone 15 Pro will start at $999 for the 128GB model, and the Pro Max, with a larger display, will start at $1199 for the 156GB model.
If you already have an iPhone 11 Pro or newer, you could supposedly get up to $1000 off by trading it into Apple for the new phone. Don’t expect to get that, though. I checked the trade-in price for my iPhone 12 and the best I could save was about $250.

The new phones will go up for preorder this Friday, September 15. The phones will also include a cable in the box unlike in recent years, likely because the company has finally switched to USB-C charging after years of fans begging to see the change. While both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will support USB-C, only the Pro models will support USB 3.
