Alan Wake IIis inspired by this franchise

Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming survival horror game has taken some major inspiration from theResident Evilfranchise. In an interview with Edge, game director Kyle Rowley revealed (viaGamesRadar),

“Camera perspective and things like that, yes, there are good references from the recent Resident Evil games that we did look at. But not just because, oh, you know, it worked for them. It’s more like, how does that help us build the kind of experience we want? More claustrophobic; making the player feel more vulnerable; making the enemies feel more physical and dangerous.”

The first game was criticized for its fighting mechanics, so this time Lake has confirmed that they have spent a significant amount of time working on that bit. The game is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on August 15, 2025.
