John Lithgow is the latest actor to join the A-list cast of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming movie. The two-time Oscar nominee actor is internationally recognised for his versatility and association with some amazing projects. His recent performance as Winston Churchill in Netflix’The Crownearned reverberating applause from the critic and audience. Now he is set to star in Scorsese’s next project.Lithgow’s other major works include the HBO seriesPerry Mason, Bombshell, Dexter, Terms of EndearmentandThe World According to Garp. He was recently nominated for an Emmy for Perry Mason and twice for an Oscar for Best Supporting Role inTerms of EndearmentandThe World According to Garp. The actor also holds a Golden Globe award for Supporting Actor inDexter.

Other actors starring in this movie are the iconicLeonardo DiCaprio and the titan Robert De Niro. It’s not the first that they are featuring in Scorsese’s project. Both the actors share a long history with the well-celebrated director with some of the most legendary films. Leonardo and Scorsese’s previous projects areThe Wolf of Wall Street, The Departed,andShutter Island. While Robert De Niro has worked with him inGoodfellas, The Irishman,andTaxi Driver.
On the other hand, it will be John Lithgow’s first time working with the great Martin Scorsese. Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons, Jason Isbell, Scott Shepherd, and Lily Gladstone, are some of the cast members.
About the Plot
Killers of the Flower Moonis based on David Grann’s bestseller,Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Set in 1920’s Oklahoma, the plot covers the brutal serial murders of the oil-wealthy Osage people from Osage County. This phase came to be known as the Reign of Terror for its cruel series of events.
Lithgow will play Prosecutor Leaward in this mysterious case. Jesse Plemons will star as Tom White, the lead FBI agent investigating the gruesome murders after big oil deposits were found under the victims’ land. Additionally, Academy Award winner Robert De Niro is set to play William Hale, “King of the Osage Hills”, who committed most of the murders. Another Academy Award winner, Leonardo will play his nephew, Ernest Burkhart whose character will be married to Lily Gladstone’s Mollie Burkhart, an Osage.

Scorsese’sKillers of the Flower Moonhasn’t revealed a release date yet. Sikelia Productions and DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions will be producing the movie. The script is written by none other thanForrest Gumpwriter, Eric Roth.
