Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 has been a roller coaster ride for the fans. Gege Akutami is such a great mangaka that they are playing with the emotions of the fans. To set a light mood, season 2 started with the Hidden Inventory arc, which focused on Satoru Gojo’s past. After the introduction of Toji Fushiguro, the plot took a dark turn, and now, with the Shibuya Incident arc getting a firm grip on the story, there seems to be an unending darkness.
Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 episode 19 was released on June 17, 2025, and with that, it confirmed one of the toughest truths of the anime, which the manga failed to show. The anime confirmed Nobara Kugisaki’s death, which the manga was too afraid to show.

Her “Kawai” faces during comedy scenes and her serious mode while facing off Cursed Spirit were quite popular among the fandom. But unfortunately, the fans can no longer enjoy those moments since their beloved Nobara Kugisaki is dead.

After experiencing Nanami Kento’s death, Yuji Itadori chased Mahito and was joined by Nobara. The duo fought Mahito, but Mahito somehow managed to touch Nobara’s left eye and use his Idle Transfiguration. It was enough to kill her off. But before that, she had a last message for Yuji Itadori. Before dying, Nobara Kugisaki said,“I’ve had a pretty good life”, to Yuji.
After that, her face blasted, and blood gushed out, and she fell to her death. Her death gives a major answer, which the manga was afraid of. AfterJujutsu Kaisenchapter 125 was released, fans were still not convinced of Nobara’s death. But after the latest episode, all doubts were cleared, and the fans bid goodbye to the Straw Doll Technique’s user.
How Did The Anime Confirm Nobara Kugisaki’s Death?
Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 episode 19 saw Nobara Kugisaki die at the hands of Mahito in front of Yuji. Before dying, she had a glimpse of her whole life and saw the faces of all the friends that she ever made. But one thing was changed from manga to anime. In the manga, Nobara said,“It wasn’t so bad,”which is completely different from the anime.

The last quote in the anime was enough to confirm that she has died. It is fair to say that after Nanami Kento, Nobara Kugisaki left the fandom in despair.
It is difficult to fathom what will be going through Yuji Itadori’s mind. He has experienced the death of two close people in two episodes.Jujutsu Kaisenseason 2 still has a few episodes left. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds. One thing is for sure Gege Akutami could have used Nobara in a better way. Her character seems to have remained unexplored.
