There has been a surge in Disney’s live-action movies, recently. FromAladdin,The Jungle Book,The Lion King, and the upcoming movieBambi, these movies do actually bring back a lot of childhood memories. And it’s not just limited to that, in fact, the fans have mostly loved the live-action Disney princesses as well.

The time when Emma Watson was introduced as Belle inBeauty and the Beasttook almost everyone’s breath away. And wait! Remember the moment when Lily James got her magical dress inCinderella? Exciting wasn’t it? Well, one thing that had received some backlash initially was the huge changes done in the Halle Bailey starrermovieThe Little Mermaid. Having this in mind, the fans are somewhat clueless about what will they get to see in the live-actionBambi.
Everything that was changed in 2023’s The Little Mermaid
There are a lot of things that disappointed the fans and made them clueless about what exactly was going on in the remake that hadHalle Baileyin it. Starting withMelissa McCarthy‘s sea witch Ursula, who is the sister of King Triton and the aunt of Ariel in the live-action remake. Although it did make sense that she hates the king for his power and control over the seven seas, the movie didn’t define her character much. Also, in the 2023 movie, she is too ruthless unlike in the aminated version released in 1989.
Also, Ariel’s six sisters are being trained to be the future leaders of the kingdom, instead of being singers. Another big change that one could notice is the character of Awkwafina, which was shown as a Gannet and not a Seagull. All such changes did make the emotions attached to the original go under and made the critics give their worse reviews.

If this confuses you, wait until you know that Prince Eric is actually an orphan in the 2023 remake. The live-action movie tells that he came to the shores of his future kingdom through a shipwreck at a very young age.

Changes that one might see in live-action Bambi
The most traumatizing moment in the 1942Bambicould be approached differently in the upcoming remake. The mother’s death of the little fawnBambihits hard in the animated version, while the live-action writer Lindsey Beer has shared her thoughts to alter this scene a bit. She wants the death of Bambi’s mother to be a little digestible for the modern audience and especially for the children.
Let’s take a look at the comment that she made during the interview withCollider.

“Not to spoil the plot, but there’s a treatment of the mom dying that I think some kids, some parents these days are more sensitive about than they were in the past. And I think that’s one of the reasons that they haven’t shown it to their children.”
Having said this, the release date ofBambihas not been disclosed yet and it seems like the movie won’t be released until 2025 or 2026. But one thing is clear, it will have one critical moment that defines the movie totally altered.
