Jennifer Lopez introduced her 14-year-old daughter Emme to the stage using gender-neutral pronouns at the LA Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala on a recent Thursday. The crowd applauded as she called the teen “my favorite duet partner” and said their song referred to Emme, who she shares with her ex-husband namely Marc Anthony, using the gender-neutral pronoun ‘they’.

The star and her daughter, amazed the crowd as they performed Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” with the teen using a rainbow-colored microphone and a stunning hot pink outfit. Meanwhile, the star looked very glamorous just like her superstar status in a green feathered coat and matching trousers.

The stunning pair was seen performing together in a stock of pictures taken from the performance night, some of the clips were posted to social media by the star. Videos of the duet were also posted to TikTok, which immediately went viral and people couldn’t stop but notice Emme’s legendary introduction. Jennifer Lopez said:
“The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t. So this is a very special occasion. They are very, very busy, booked, and pricey. They cost me when they come out. But they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me.”

Those videos have received more than 50,000 views, and have been supported by positive comments respecting Emme’s usage of they/them pronouns. One user wrote commented “Awww JLo respecting the pronouns”, while another said: “The best parents love and support their kids – go JLO and Emme!”.

We know that Emme is the child of Jennifer Lopez and the star’s former husband, Marc Anthony, whom she divorced in 2014. In the video, the proud star can be heard saying ”Give it up for my baby,” at the end of the epic performance, the teen carried a rainbow-colored microphone on stage and sang a version of Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’ alongside her proud mother. This happened to be the first time they were on stage together since 2020 when the star last performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Miami.
