The actor caught the attention of Marvel enthusiasts with his brief appearance in the post-credit scene of Brie Larson’s latest feature,The Marvels.Fans have been eager to see the X-Men in the franchise since Ryan Reynolds revealed that Hugh Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine in theDeadpoolthreequel, which is expected to be set in the MCU.

While he got the opportunity to reprise his role in the 2023 film, the 68-year-old actor also expressed his strong desire to return as Beast soon after theDeadpool 3announcement.

Kelsey Grammer Wanted to Reprise His X-Men Role For a While
Kelsey Grammerportrayed the role of Dr. Henry ‘Hank’ McCoy, aka Beast, in the 2006 filmX-Men: The Last Stand, followed by an uncredited cameo inX-Men: Days of Future Past. He was finally able to reprise his role in the latest MCU film,The Marvels.
However, the Emmy-winning actor has been looking forward to his return for a while. He has said in his earlierinterviewsthat he would“love to do Beast again.” And the actor shared the thought again while promoting his 2022 filmChristmas in Paradise.

During an interview withMovieWeb, the actor stated his bold ultimatum to Disney to bring him back as Beast.“If they don’t ask me to return to the role of Beast, I’ll never go to Disneyland again,”he said before adding,“I’d love for them to do that. I want to do that.”
The actor has clearly been eager to reprise hisX-Menrole for years. And his cameo in The Marvels has opened the gate for more such opportunities in the future. Grammer has become anotherX-Menactor to make an MCU appearance after Patrick Stewart in theDoctor Strangesequel and Evan Peters inWandaVision.

What is X-Men’s Future in the MCU?
So far, severalX-Mencharacters have appeared in the MCU, including Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver, and now Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming filmDeadpool 3is also expected to introduce the recurring characters in theDeadpoolfilm series along with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU.
However, except forDeadpool 3,Marvel Studios has not revealed any officialX-Menproject so far. Earlier this year,Deadlinereported that the studio was allegedly planning to set writer meetings later this fall for pitches on its highly anticipatedX-Menmovie.

There are assumptions that the mutant superheroes could potentially join The Avengers inSecret Wars.However, nothing is confirmed, and it is also speculated that theX-Menmovie would most likely fall under Phase 7 of the superhero franchise.
