Chadwick Boseman‘s death was so deep-hitting that even the deaths of Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff paled in comparison to the news of his passing.
It can all be credited to him only- the21 Bridgesstar is an amazing actor, which fans would’ve already made out after watching the James Brown biopic musical,Get on Up,which he was the main star of. His portrayal of Black Panther, let alone T’Challa was impressive, alluring, and mysterious.

One may think that replacing an actor like Boseman from the title of Black Panther would be impossible after such an amazing display. ButWakanda Foreverstar Letitia Wright says that it was bound to happen and that Shuri was going to be the successor to T’Challa.

Speaking during an appearance on theEmpire Movie Podcast, theSing 2star revealed-
“It was bittersweet. Shuri was always gonna do it, but it was gonna be done in a different way where her brother was gonna be alongside her, really explore that, like the comic books, the ways in which T’Challa and Shuri would be Black Panther alongside each other and try to figure out how to defend their nation.”

Having two great Wakandan warriors would’ve been quite the spectacle. Regardless, Wright then expresses her disappointment at what could’ve been-
“But unfortunately, that’s not how it panned out… I knew the responsibility, I knew the weight of it, but it was just bittersweet, something I struggled with a lot. But [I’m] extremely proud of myself, had great support.”
Succeeding an actor like Chadwick Boseman is no job, and fans would be glad to know that she got all the support she needed to take up the responsibility inWakanda Forever– a truly impressive sequel!

Letitia Wright’s revelation is truly an ice-breaker, and it’s got fans on Twitter giving out mixed opinions-
My only complaint Shuri being the Black Panther is I wished in the first film they showed that she was a capable fighter. Other than that I can’t wait to see what Letitia Wright does with that mantle.

Why didn’t they recast? –
So why tf did they not just recast? Why instead did they permanently kill T’Challa just to prop shuri up? They effectively made shuri a hallow shell of T’Challa and removed anything that could’ve been unique about her

Only fair for the MCU-
It is not uncommon in the books… It’s actually happened at least twice, I believe.

Already planned?-
This makes sense because people were already anticipating Shuri in the suit when the first film dropped. You can check old articles for the proof.
