During an interview, Cavill explained how this unique voice for Geralt came about. He revealed that when he auditioned for the role of Geralt, he used his normal voice, but during the final shot, Cavill accidentally used a different voice. The actor then realized that this improvised voice suited the character better and decided to stick with it. Cavill said,

“I think it was Episode 3, actually, King Foltest, that scene where I lock everyone out of the room and walk back in. I didn’t do that intentionally. That happened by accident… And then afterward, I was like, ‘Oh my god, I just played a whole scene in the wrong voice.’ And I realized that the voice made a lot of things sit better when it came to the delivery of certain lines and the delivery of certain dialogue. And I thought, ‘I actually kind of prefer this.'”

The fantasy drama,The Witcher, is based on a book series of the same name. Before the series was adapted into a television show, it was developed into a fantasy action role-playing game series by CD Projekt Red.
