Jujutsu KaisenSeason 2 Episode 17 was quite the ride, and fans have been praising the animation and smooth fight scenes ever since. Recently the animators at MAPPA opened up about the terrible work conditions they’re facing. However, despite these problems, they managed to drop another masterpiece.

A key animator for the recent episode revealed in a tweet that they could only incorporate 30% of what they actually intended to and aired the episode in an incomplete state. With that being said, another tweet recently leaked keyframes that suggested that fans could’ve watched the battle between Sukuna and the Divine General from Mahoraga’s perspective.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 17 featured scenes from Mahoraga’s perspective
In the tweet below, we can clearly see the keyframes from the sequences that appear to be demonstrating the battle with Sukuna from Mahoraga’s perspective. As the work condition at MAPPA is terrible and staff are being burdened under tight deadlines and with little to no support, this is quite unfortunate that fans missed watching something interesting.

Fans were quite surprised as they were hit with the sudden revelation by an animator at MAPPA. They consideredJujutsu Kaisenseason 2 episode 17 to be the best-animated episode of the year. However, learning about that fact left them speechless. There wasn’t much left for fans to do except praise the talent and hard work of the animators.

Fans wished that they shouldn’t have known about this fact as spectators of the series. Upon realizing that what they considered perfect could’ve been 70% more perfect, it was a bittersweet feeling for them.

MAPPA says the Jujutsu Kaisen episode was incomplete when aired
The animators at MAPPA were showered with praise for their excellent work asJujutsu Kaisenseason 2, episode 17, was released. We have seen fans being grateful and praising the animators, which became a regular thing following the series’ releases. The appraisal the latest episode received was massive.
That said, we’re aware of the terrible work situations these animators are going through. We must accept that the animators’ skill levels were so good they could save the episode.
A freelance animator at MAPPA by the username Enrico Nobili posted on their X (Formerly Twitter) account about the actual status of theJujutsu Kaisenseason 2 episode 17 animation. They have worked as the episode’s Animation Director and Emergency Key Animator. According to them, he was pretty delighted that fans loved the episode. However, in all honesty, staff could only present 30% of the intended vision for the episode.
