As the Marvel Cinematic Universe heads toward its downfall with each new project being even less liked than the previous one by most fans (The Marvelsbeing a solid example of this), the franchise is doing anything and everything just to stay afloat in the constantly demanding industry. Amid this, it is also reported to be planning to bring back‘dead’characters from the franchise.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe

According to the reports, these‘dead’characters not only include Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, both of whom gave up their lives inAvengers: Endgameto save the world but also include Richard Madden’s Ikaris fromEternals, who is rumored to return in the film’s reported sequel in early development.

Just like anything and everything can happen in fiction, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also going forward with this aim in mind: they are willing to resurrect any and every fan-favorite dead character just to survive in the entertainment industry.

Out of these are not only the ultra fan-favorite‘dead’Avengers–Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow–(more on that later), but alsoRichard Madden‘s Ikaris fromEternals.

Not only this but even the sequel to the 2021 not-so-thoroughly-acclaimed film is reported to be in early development at Marvel Studios, as reported by @HollywoodHandle onX:

While some fans (those who genuinely likedEternalsand felt it was underrated) are truly happy with this news and are all the while not caring about how a dead character like Ikaris could be brought back to life, others are calling this the MCU’s attempt at trying to breakThe Marvels‘ lowest box-office opening for the franchise (pun intended).

Marvel Rumored To Resurrect Two Major Dead Avengers

Recently, following the terrible performance of the franchise at the box office lately, rumors have been going around claiming that Marvel is planning on getting the six main and original Avengers back together.

Since this would also mean bringingRobert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man andScarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow back from the dead as they both gave up their lives inAvengers: Endgameto save the world, fans have been curious to know whatKevin Feigehad to say about that.

However, during a recent interview withET, Feige not only more or less partially turned down the idea but also claimed that he hadn’t even thought of the idea.

“I have literally, I have not even seen that. Is that a new [rumor]?” He asked before adding, “We did not discuss that at the retreat is the truth. We’re doing a project with Scarlett [Johansson]. I love Robert [Downey Jr.]. He’s a part of the family, but in terms of returning we’ll have to see.”

So far, no news about Black Widow and Iron Man coming back from the dead has been confirmed by the studios. Furthermore, comparing the incredibly huge pay of the respective actors for their superhero roles with how the franchise is opting for low-budget films going forward, even the idea seems unlikely,

Thus, for now, fans will just have to stick to looking forward to Richard Madden’s Ikaris in the rumoredEternalssequel.
