Now thatDisney+has officially launched with promises of a variety of original Marvel shows on the horizon, Marvel Television as we know it is officially coming to an end as it has been announced thatMarvel’s Runawayswill not be renewed after the upcoming Season 3.
What is Marvel’s Runaways?
Marvel’s Runawaysfocuses on a group of teenagers with unique powers and abilities that they discover whilst uncovering their parent’s nefarious deeds in the villainous team known as PRIDE.
The series starred Gregg Sulkin, Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer and Allegra Acosta as the titular teenagers with Angel Parker, Ryan Sands, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Brigid Brannagh, Kevin Weisman, Brittany Ishibashi, James Yaegashi and Julian McMahon portraying their villainous parents.
Runawayshas been airing on Hulu since the series began in November 2017 and is set to air its third and final season in just under a month on the streaming service.
The cancellation of the series comes just weeks after the news that Freeform showCloak & Daggerwill not be renewed after two seasons. However, before the news ofCloak & Dagger’scancellation was official, it was announced that the show’s stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph would be crossing over withMarvel’s Runawaysfor at least one episode to help the teens face off against new threat Morgana Le Fay, portrayed by new Season 3 regular Elizabeth Hurley.
Marvel’s Runawaysis the second-to-last series from Marvel Television chieftain Jeph Loeb who became solely responsible for Marvel Television after Kevin Feige decided to separate the official MCU from the Marvel Television division.

Along withCloak & Dagger, the six shows that comprised the Marvel Netflix Segment of the MCU were also publicly cancelled prior to the official announcement of Disney+.
This means that, aside from the upcoming final season ofMarvel’s Runaways, the last series to air in Loeb’s Marvel Television reign will be season seven ofAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.set to air in mid-2020.
Marvel’s Runaways will air its third and final season on August 16, 2025.
