The anime franchise is so popular that it has been adapted into video games, and people who are planning to start their anime journey should include it on their watch list. Fans thought the show would end afterNarutobecame the Hokage. The creators had planned for a sequel that revolves aroundNaruto’s son,Boruto. The show is calledBoruto: Naruto Next Generations. The anime got mixed reviews, and fans were not happy with it. Since the inception of the sequel, a wild theory has been circulating on the internet. The theory is so bizarre that it would make the anime 100 times more pointless than its current stage.
Madara Uchiha’s Infinite Tsukuyomi Is Still Active
The Fourth Great Ninja War inNaruto Shippudensaw the best ninjas of the current generation fight against the best ninjas in the history of the Shinobi world. The Akatsuki had planned to steal all the tailed beasts and revive the ten-tails. But hardly did they know that Madara Uchiha was controlling them like a puppet through Tobi (Obito). All five nations and the samurai joined forces to protectNaruto(Nine-tails Jinchuriki) and Killer Bee (Eight-tails Jinchuriki) from Madara and Obito.

AfterNarutoand Sasuke defeated Obito in Ten-tails form, reincarnated Madara Uchiha absorbed the Ten-tails and got fully revived. He planned to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi on the world. Infinite Tsukuyomi is a genjutsu of a greater level. He used the moon to reflect his Rinne-Sharingan. Everyone who saw or was exposed to it went inside a dream world. The dream was a matrix-shaped paradise where the person would live his entire life as he/she had hoped it to be, while the God Tree drained their life force.
It was at this point that Sasuke used his Rinne-Sharingan to counter the Infinite Tsukuyomi and saveNaruto, Sakura, and Kakashi from the dream world. But the wild fan theory that has been circulating claims that Madara Uchiha’s Infinite Tsukuyomi is still ongoing. The story inBoruto: Naruto Next Generationsis justNaruto’s dream of how he had wished to live his life. He yearned for a family and got it through Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The introduction of technology, peace among all the nations, a more friendly environment, a decreased fear factor, etc., does make it seem like a dream. But Team 7 fought against Kaguya Otsutsuki to free everyone from the dream world. The theory suggested that it was a necessary evil that Madara Uchiha planted inside the dream. It would be the confirmation forNarutoand Sasuke that they indeed defeated Kaguya Otsutsuki and saved everyone. It would make them more comfortable in their paradise.

For that reason,Borutoonly has villains from the Otsutsuki clan. ButBorutoand Kawaki are considered to be exceptions since they act as vessels for the Otsutsukis. But it seems to get more popular with time.
