The three-part story evolving around Gotham City told the multi-layered dark and gruesome tale with several villains for Batman to fight and conquer. And he did in all three movies, at least fought hard with his embedded morality. However, part four of the movie would have been much different.

If Christopher Nolan Made Another Installment to the DC Franchise

IfChristopher Nolanmade another movie in the DC franchise, the scenario would have been much different than the previous three movies. As perGary Oldmanwho played Commissioner Gordon in the trilogy told Esquire that the fourth installment would not be about the Dark Knight at all rather, it would have a new hero of Gotham afterChristian Bale’sBatman.Don JonstarJoseph Gordon-Levittplayed John Blake— tritagonist of The Dark Knight Rises, an orphan who idolized Bruce Wayne— was supposed to be the new hero to fight crimes in Gotham.

Levitt, according to Oldman, would eventually become Robin in the later movies in the franchise.“I think that was the idea,”Oldman said of the fourth movie. However, it never happened or is far from happening again. Adding further, Oldman stated that the controversial ending of the third installment was“a wonderful resolution for the character”as Bruce Wayne went on to“find love, finally.”Robin, one of the most popular supporting characters in Batman comics was never featured in any of Nolan’s three movies. Also, Robin would be perfect for the post-Batman Gotham as Nolan’s masterful design of the city has created the space for the hero to thrive in the inherent darkness of Gotham.

Gary Oldman Said People Call Him Commissioner Gordon

As if people are not over the decade-old franchise. In the Nolan franchise, all the actors have made prolific contributions to the development of the plot of the movie. Oldman as Batman’s trusted ally, Commissioner Gordon had a significant amount of screen time for his character to develop. Oldman said people do not recognize him that often when he is out in the street but when they do, they don’t go by the actor’s real name. They would usually greet him as  Commissioner Gordon or Harry Potter’s Sirius Black.

“I was glamping years ago in El Capitan and I ran into my dentist who said, ‘My son’s over there and he would love to meet you. He loves Sirius Black. It was a bunch of kids sitting around, and I said, ‘I’m Sirius Black.’ He looked at me, and this kid at the end said, ‘No you’re not. You’re Commissioner Gordon!'”Oldman said.
