Dwayne Johnsondebuted in Hollywood with a box-office successful film,The Mummy Returns.It eventually led him to star in several projects that were majorly performing well in their theatrical run.From the past record, it can be seen that his films have had a tremendous box-office leg but the charts are now falling.

Back in 2021, he starred alongside Emily Blunt in the hope of gaining more prominence with Disney’sJungle Cruise. However, the post-pandemic movie left him shattered as it faced the drastic fate of a $151M loss at the box office.

It was reported that the film would have to gross around $500 million worldwide to break even which included production and promotional cost of $362 million.

However, this disappointing performance would have been different had the film been released before the pandemic. The House of Mouse also had a huge contribution to its failure as its strategy to release films on its streaming platform was what led to a massive drop in viewership as they would prefer to wait a few extra weeks to watch that project.

Despite a failure, the studio has already started developing its sequel and no official date has been unveiled regarding its release. Given that theJumanjiactor was unable to establish his prominence in the film, his box-office records took another critical hit when DC’sBlack Adamturned out to be an epic failure.

Black Adamis one of the biggest failures in recent years for DC Studios, both critically and commercially. The movie has a meagre score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, which did not sit well with the head honchos of Warner Bros. The movie that was supposed to launch Dwayne Johnson into new heights of stardom turned out to be the biggest disaster of his career.

The movie was able to make $393 million worldwide on a massive budget of $195-260 million. And the once hyped sequel of the movie was cancelled as soon as the Gunn-Safran duo assumed their top position in the studio.
