On Naruto’s path to becoming Hokage, he encountered numerous challenges. Alongside his fellow ninjas, he confronted various villains. Some of them were well-crafted and memorable, while others fell short and lacked forte.
And to conclude the mainNarutoseries, the final adversary unexpectedly turned out to be Kaguya Otsutsuki, not Madara or Tobi as many had anticipated. Kaguya was undoubtedly powerful but lacked depth as a character. Her sudden introduction to replace Madara Uchiha disappointed many fans.
Kaguya’s role primarily involved being a formidable opponent for Team 7 and concluding the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, her character left fans unsatisfied due to her sudden arrival and lack of development. But, in theBorutoseries, there’s a villain with petty motivation which makes Kaguya seem better than him.

Kaguya’s Impact onBoruto’sDisappointing Villain
Fans often viewed Kaguya Otsutsuki as an unnecessary addition toNaruto’sconclusion. However, her presence in the story highlights the shortcomings ofBoruto’sdisappointing villain, Code. Code is generally considered a lackluster antagonist inBoruto, and his actions are even less impressive when connected toNaruto’sfinal villain, Kaguya.
InBoruto chapter #72, Code creates his own version of Obito’s White Zetsu army by breaking off smaller pieces of Kara’s version of the Ten-Tails. Notably, Kaguya was the original Ten-Tails inNaruto. Code’s actions can be seen as a symbolic representation of something deeper than just assembling an army for the invasion of Konoha, as later seen inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Borutohas clarified that Kaguya didn’t arrive on Earth alone, contrary to the initial assumption when she was introduced inNaruto. She was accompanied by her fellow Otsutsuki andBoruto’santagonist, Isshiki, as Otsutsuki typically operates in pairs: one sacrifices themselves to a Ten-Tails to make the Chakra Tree blossom, and the other consumes the resulting Chakra Fruit to gain ultimate godlike power.
However, Kaguya betrayed Isshiki and left him for dead, leading him to inhabit the body of a man named Jigen. This connection to Isshiki is relevant to Code becauseBorutohas established that Code greatly reveres and respects Isshiki to the point of desiring to become Isshiki’s new vessel. Code’s hatred for Kawaki arises from the fact that Isshiki chose Kawaki as his vessel over Code.
