Jesse Eisenberg‘s only Oscar nomination came from his performance inThe Social Network, but it seems his favorite role as an actor came in the popcorn thrillerNow You See Me.The 40-year-old first portrayed J. Daniel Atlas, who’s known for his ability to leave people puzzled with sleight of hand and stage magic, in 2013 before reprising the role in 2016, as the Four Horsemen, plan to pull off a heist in Macau, China.
It’s been more than seven years since the release of the second installment and nothing concrete has been announced concerningNow You See Me 3‘s plot.

Regardless, Eisenberg has thrown his hat into the ring for another go as the smooth magician in the thriller comedy to give himself some relief as an actor. Speaking toCollider, he said:
“That’s why I love love them so much, and I’m so desperate to do a third one. It’s like the only time I could kind of lower my antidepressant dosage because I feel so at ease and comfortable with myself as a performer because the character is. So, in some ways, the way I would describe method acting would almost be in the reverse that the character is making you feel a certain something about yourself.”

Not only Eisenberg is able to portray a relatable character, who’s also a performer, but also gains a lot of confidence on the set due to Daniel’s bold personality while working his magic, as the Oscar nominee considers himself an unconfident performer “experiencing self-doubt.”

Latest Update on Another Installment of Jesse Eisenberg’s Now You See Me
Now You See Me 3is definitely happening, as earlier this month, Lionsgate announced they have greenlit another installment of the heist-focused franchise, which has so far garnered almost $700 million at the global box office.
During an investor call (viaComicBook), Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake also revealed that Ruben Fleischer will spearhead the project. The filmmaker is known for his brilliant work inVenom (2018)as well asZombieland (2009), in which he worked withNow You See MestarsWoody Harrelsonand Eisenberg.
Drake characterized the flick as a “reimagining” of the series. This may indicate that many or all the stars of the originals aren’t coming back forNow You See Me 3.But Eisenberg’s comments suggest it is best to wait for a formal word on the casting.
