TheLucyactress toldVarietythat she was not strained to choose Marchesa but it was entirely her own choice. She explained that she wanted to show her support to the women behind the establishment of this brand.

She stated,
“I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful, and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers.”
She did not mention the producer in her statement meanwhile her reps told the outlet that she approached the brand two months before the Met Gala event.Even the spokesperson for Marchese shared their insights on their collaboration with the MCU alum stating,
“We are truly honored that Scarlett chose to wear Marchesa for the Met Gala” adding, “She is an amazingly talented actor who has incredible style and presence. It was wonderful to work so closely with her in creating this custom look.”
Marchesa, on the other hand, faced a major fallout ever since sexual abuse allegations against Weinstein surfaced.
